Submitting an assignment using Turnitin is the same as any normal assignment.
Ask your lecturer how they wish you to submit as some lecturers will only allow you to submit once, where other lecturers will allow you to view your Turnitin originality report immediately so that you can edit your work before officially submitting.
Click [Add Submission] and drag & drop your document into the window provided or choose it using the Add file icon. Once selected click [Save changes].
NOTE: using [Add submission] uploads your work only - it does not mean you have submitted it for marking. It will not be submitted for marking until you [Submit assignment]
You will see your submission status like this:
The time it takes for Turnitin to process to report will vary on server traffic. This can take between 5 minutes to an hour.
You will NOT be notified when the originality report is available, you will need to check back to see if report is complete
When you check to see if the report is finished, this is what it will look like:
Click on the Turnitin Icon or coloured rectangle to view your originality report. Check that every area that has been matched is also correctly referenced. Don't forget the Library Reference Guide if you need help on how to do this.
You can use [Edit submission] to upload an edited attempt. If you are satisfied everything is correctly referenced, click [Submit Assignment] to submit it for marking by your lecturer.
NOTE: Once you agree to the Submission Statement and click [Submit] this is an attempt used!
You will be required to accept the conditions of assessment:
You must click "Submit Assignment" to officially submit the document. After clicking this you will be prompted to accept a Student Declaration (as shown).
DO NOT click "Submit Assignment" if you have not finished editing your work. Once submit is clicked this is your 1st attempt used.
